HR Business Partnering – Old Wine in New Bottles

The HR Business Partner title is now an established part of many large organisations – often replacing the ubiquitous HR manager title. But to what degree is HR really operating in a radically different way? Experience tells us that far too many HR professionals are still hampered by too many tactical and administrative tasks that detract from their ability to focus on the critical business issues of generating value for the customer, improving quality/service, generating increased sales, and controlling costs and cash flow. The question is what are we really focusing on today? Is the danger we are still doing the same old transactional stuff and that for many, the HRBP title, is just a case of old wine in new bottles??!!!
